Legal Services via Resource MMIHL

The Why

We offer offers a range of legal services, which are described in more detail on the main MMIHL website. Via  Resource MMIHL you are also able to buy specific bundles of time either as a standalone service or as an addition to another product e.g. a template.

When you buy time, you are treated as a potential client as per the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and that requires additional checks to be made.

 

The what

The additional checks are as follows:

  • ID check – you will need to prove who you are usually either with a passport or drivers licence
  • Address – you will need to prove your home address, usually with a statement from a utility or bank
  • Conflict check – this is a check to ensure that there are no conflicts in advising you for example, if we’ve advised another company with which you want a proposed contract.
  • Money Laundering check – essentially we have to investigate if funds are being laundered or used to finance terrorists and notify the appropriate authorities. This is less of an issue for us as we do not handle client monies unless there are reasons to believe the organisation itself is laundering money or financing terrorism.

 

The first two items are the key items as the other two tend to be internal checks once you’ve provided some information.

 

THE how

Following the sale process on the Resource MMIHL website, you will get an email requesting the above documents; you may also have to complete a short form depending on what advice and assistance you need.

You will be asked to provide the additional documents and send them over by email and/or upload to a secure server.

We may also :

  • Require a face-to-face call via Teams to verify any additional details
  • Undertake any additional investigations both on yourself and/or the company you represent
  • Request additional documents or information

 

Once we have checked the above, you will be sent an engagement letter via online e-signature software such Signable or Docusign. You will need to read carefully the letter with the terms and conditions attachments and then sign the letter if you are happy. The relevant documents are also available here.

Whilst initially the above process will be done manually, AI Agents will eventually be used for some of those processes. Any communication will make this clear.

 

the when

The onus is very much upon you to produce the documents and sign the engagement letter because no work will be undertaken until we have those and done our internal checks.

However, whilst we will occasionally send a reminder, we will not do this indefinitely. If we have not heard from you within a month, you will be deemed to no longer want the legal services element and this will be cancelled and monies refunded less an administrative charge and transaction costs.

If the legal service was part of another product such as a template then you will be entitled to keep the template.

one more thing

When you’ve done the above process once, then it doesn’t need to be done again.
